This poem was recited by me at the Zoom meeting organized by the Kavya Kaumudi Chetana Hindi manch on the occasion of Martyr's day. The English translation of the poem is given at the bottom.
जन्म और मरण भारत में
पर अपना निशाना छोड़ा, बहुत सारे देशों पर
दक्षिण अफ्रीका , अमरीका ,
म्यांमार , इत्यादि ...
बहुत सारे स्वतंत्र चिंतक
प्रभावित हुए इस महात्मा से
उनके काम का अज़र पड़ा
किंग , मंडेला, सूक्यी पर
पर आज , आज की तारीख में
भिन्नता , शत्रुता घृणा के माहौल
बढ़ते जा रहे है , अपने ही देश में
तेरे पुण्य तिथि के अवसर पर
खड़े है हम, हे शांति दूत
शर्मिंदा , आँख नीचे करके
क्या फैलाएंगे विशव में, तेरे सन्देश
जब पालन न कर पाए हम, भारत वासी
अपने ही जीवन में ?

on nations many
South Africa, America
Myanmar & many more...
Many free thinkers inspired
by this nonviolent Mahatma
his methods impacting work
of King, Mandela, Suukyi..
Today however, an atmosphere
of differences, enmity and hate is growing
in the country of the messenger himself!
On this day of your martyrdom, oh messenger of peace
we stand ashamed unable to meet your eye
how do we spread your message to the world
when we Indians have failed
are unable to follow them
in our own lives and country?
Your call is perfectly in sync with the need of the hour. However none can show the right path to the Indians today. They have to find it themselves only.
