Anniversary Day Thoughts

Thirty five years of wedlock
oh how time flies!
it seems like yesterday
that we took the seven steps together!

As in any life journey
the marital journey also
has had its ups and downs
blind agreements in the beginning
and disagreements later
yet, the big boon of our union dear
are the gems in the picture
who have grown up to be
such responsible loving adults!

The pandemic they say
threw up wild discords
with couples forced to spend
more hours under same roof
for me though,  it was reinforcement
of your role  as the pivot
the solid pillar of the family
tirelessly engaged in its safety and welfare

I now know that there is a purpose
of union, relationships
of harmony, disharmony
all an opportunity to learn, grow
become better selves of ourselves

My greeting to you on this landmark, dear
may today and the days to come
be filled  with his blessings
his light guiding us  to be the
best possible versions of ourselves!
