The prompt took me down the memory lane, when
The noisy ceiling fans were
more common in the old times
When most Government offices
had old high ceiling fans
That were allowed to run
with creaky sounds
And discarded only after it became
no longer serviceable
The same was true in
households too
An Indian well known for his
“Jugad”
Made adjustments, repaired
equipment
Following the motto “Use it
as long as it holds!”
Meaning a quiet acceptance
of a noisy ceiling fan
With changing times & more
money in the hands of people
Less of joint families &
more of nuclear families
Ceiling fans are discarded a
lot faster
It is just as well, for
sleeping can be tough
With a noisy ceiling fan in
the background
More so if you are
predominantly an “auditory person”
In the neuro linguistic programming terms!
