Pressure to be happy all the time?
"Everyone seems so happy always"
worried, "Is something wrong with me"?
Rest assured no one can,
is happy "all the time" !
At one time, we said 'cheese' for the photograph
present demand - Super smiles for the social media
a media that operates 24x7
So relax buddy, there's no need
to pretend, play act
it is okay to experience
a myriad of emotions
it is okay to be human...
This is a real message that must be given to humankind. I opine that many people either suffer or feel bad silently or may not be able to express feelings. Expression of feelings and being a human is essential. Loved it, Raj jee....
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts on the subject Padma. So happy to receive your appreciation and feedback!
ReplyDeleteI agree it is ok to be human. But by and large we come across a segment who feel they are always at the receiving end. This is more to generate sympathy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts on the subject.
ReplyDeleteSuper! Need not pretend to be happy all the time. Let negative feelings like anger, disappointment arise, let them not take a permanent seat, get over it at the earliest. Recuperate soon!
ReplyDeleteSuperb! You have correctly gone into the essence of the poem. We cannot get over an issue by denying or sweeping it under the carpet. It is still there. What you do is acknowledge it, and then move towards better feelings...
DeleteThe distinctive feature of humans is feeling happy and laugh aloud wheras animals don't have that luxury of emotions. Thank God for this unique experience 🙏🙌❤👏
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts. This poem was written in the context of social media putting undue pressure on people "to feel happy, laugh aloud" when you actually don't feel it. After acknowledging what you actually feel, you can move towards the happy emotions.
DeleteThat's the simplest message that can be given to individuals in this fast paced world. Seldom doing and following simple thing are the most difficult.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your appreciation and feedback!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely expressed the need for to be real and truly yourself without a mask.
ReplyDeleteShort and sweet poem in real sense.
Thank you so much for your appreciative feedback!
