Messages with frequent use
of words like "Awesome", "Super" "Fantastic"
followed by ten exclamation marks!
and five or more heart symbols....
If coming from the heart
wouldn't a simple "loved it"
followed by a single exclamation mark do?
With so much phoniness all around
how does one know, how much
of what's said is genuine, how much pretence?
Wonder where we are going,what are we coming to?
It is all fake, people just want a comment back most of the times! I make it a point to not post such comments...it just looks so dishonest even to myself!

ReplyDeleteI use extra punctuations and emoticons to stress on something.
ReplyDeleteI also feel that they help convey a message better because when we cannot be literally heard, the emoticons take the place of the 'tone' in which we might have spoken. :)
Thank you Divya for giving another perspective. However, this is not about using or not using emoticons.
DeleteIt is about putting your hand on a button and letting it go on and on. When People start doing this as a force of habit, to any message they write and to anyone and everyone,the gesture loses its original intention.
I so agree, and I come across people who lie through their teeth just to gain some brownie points, it just leaves me sad!
