I do not remember from where I had noted down these gems .But reading them gives a lot of guidance in our journey towards peace...
- Tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences
- Ability to enjoy every moment
- Loss of interest in judging others
- Loss of interest in conflict
- Loss of ability to worry
- Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation
- Contented feelings of conectedness with others and nature
- Frequent attacks of smiling
- An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen
- An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others and an uncontrollable urge to extend it.
Very right points, Rajeev.. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sreedharji.Wonderful to get your feedback!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. I just need to work on the worrying part. Sometimes, I become anxious and worry too much.
ReplyDeletewonderfully written, but to play the devils advocate... doesn't it sound very much like apathy
ReplyDeleteThank you Purba.I look at these as great guidelines...
ReplyDeleteInteresting observation Parwati.I looked up the dictionary meaning of 'apathy' for clarity. It says "absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement"
ReplyDeleteInfact everything mentioned in the list including 'frequent attacks of smiling'happens without any effort from the person..
Here we are not talking of supression. You are not supressing the urge to judge and criticise. It is just that you no longer have the inclination for such things...
So easy to read, so difficult to practice. It is a lifetimes work.
ReplyDeleteThere's irony in some of the statements even if you didn't mean it. For example, "loss of ability to worry."
ReplyDeleteRight points...if we follow this we will be very happy!

ReplyDeleteAs we focus on what we want, slowly the things we do not want fall away effortlessly and the abilities that we take pride in (only thinking man can worry, not animals :) ) are lost...I am happy that this post has got us all thinking either ways...
ReplyDeleteYou are right Abhijit. It's a journey and not immediately attained destination. It could take a lifetime as suggested by you .By the way these are not mine but that of a noble soul...
